Pick Lovable to launch and run a real product, Bolt for the quickest start in the browser, v0 if you care most about polished screens or already use Vercel, and Replit Agent if you want phone apps too. All four turn a plain description into a working app with hosting included, and you keep changing it by chatting. You never have to read the code, but it’s there.

What does “no-code” mean with an AI builder?

You describe the app and the builder writes real code for you. That’s different from older drag-and-drop tools, where your app only exists inside the tool.

It matters for two reasons. First, you’re not boxed in by a fixed set of blocks: if you can describe it, the builder can try it. Second, the code is yours to take with you, through GitHub or a download, so a developer can pick it up later if the app outgrows the builder. Check that second part before you commit, because it isn’t always on the free plan.

The short list

Each builder wins on one thing. Open a card above for current plans and prices, straight from the maker’s site.

BuilderPick it ifHow it’s priced
Lovableyou want to build, launch and run a product, alone or with a teamFree plan with daily credits; paid plans by monthly credits
Boltyou want the fastest start in the browser and a lean projectFree plan with token limits; paid plans by tokens
v0you want polished screens and you deploy on VercelFree plan with a daily message limit; paid per user
Replit Agentyou want web and phone apps from one placeFree Starter plan; paid plans add model credit

Want to launch a real product? Lovable

Lovable is the fullest platform of the four: build, publish, take payments and manage a team in one place. It’s the one to pick if the app is meant to become a business.

It plans before it builds: you can review what it intends to change and approve it first. Each message costs credits by how much work it does, so a small fix costs little and a big feature costs more. The free plan gives you a few credits every day, which is enough to try a real idea slowly.

Read the plan table closely. Git sync with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket works on every plan, but editing or downloading the code, custom domains and removing the “Edit with Lovable” badge all start on Pro. Business costs more for the same credits and adds single sign-on, role-based access and security tools for a company. You can build on the web, on Mac and Windows, and from its phone apps. See the Lovable page for current plans.

Want the quickest start? Bolt

Bolt is the fastest way from a sentence to something running in your browser, with a database, sign-in and hosting built in. There’s nothing to install and nothing to set up.

You can start from a prompt, a Figma file, a GitHub repository or a template. Bolt picks the model for you, and the free plan includes public and private projects, unlimited databases and hosting, with Bolt branding on your site.

The thing to know is how it charges. Bolt counts tokens, and most of them go on reading your project, so every message costs more as the app grows. Pro removes the branding, adds your own domain and a much bigger monthly allowance that carries over. Teams adds central billing and admin controls, priced per member. Keep the project lean and it stays cheap. Lovable vs Bolt goes deep on how the two compare.

Care most about how it looks? v0

v0 is Vercel’s builder, and it’s strongest at good-looking screens that deploy straight to Vercel. If your team already ships on Vercel, it fits right in.

The free plan already deploys to Vercel, syncs with GitHub and lets you tweak the design visually with Design Mode, with a daily cap on messages. Paid plans are priced per user and come with monthly credits plus a small free top-up each day you log in. Business adds training opt-out by default. There’s an iPhone app for working on the go.

It’s a good pick for a landing page, a dashboard or a prototype you’ll show people. For a bigger app with a lot of logic behind it, compare it with Lovable first: Lovable vs v0 and Bolt vs v0 put them side by side.

Want phone apps too? Replit Agent

Replit Agent builds web apps and native phone apps from a chat, then tests and fixes its own work before you see it. It’s the broadest of the four.

It writes the code, runs it, checks it and publishes it on Replit with hosting, a database and sign-in included. It can also build agents and automations, not just apps.

The free Starter plan gives you daily Agent credits and a lighter build mode for quick changes, plus one free published app that comes down after a while and carries a “Made with Replit” badge. The full build mode, where the agent works on its own with more power, starts on Core. Pro adds parallel agents, more collaborators and longer database rollback. Publishing and heavy agent use can cost extra on top, so watch your spend. Lovable vs Replit Agent compares the two.

How to pick one

Four questions decide it: what you’re making, how you’ll pay, whether you can publish for free, and whether you can take your code.

  1. What are you making? A business with users and payments points to Lovable. A quick tool or prototype points to Bolt. A polished site or dashboard points to v0. Anything that needs to live on a phone points to Replit Agent.
  2. How does it charge as the app grows? Credits by task size (Lovable), tokens that climb with project size (Bolt), credits per user (v0) or a plan plus model credit (Replit). Make a handful of real edits on the free plan and see what they cost.
  3. What does the free plan let you publish? All four let you put something live for free, but branding, custom domains and how long it stays up differ. Check before you share a link with customers.
  4. Can you take your code? If a developer might take over later, make sure GitHub sync or a code download is on the plan you’ll actually pay for.

Building with others? Look at team pricing early: some charge per person, others share one pool across the workspace. The compare pages put the plans side by side.

When an app builder isn’t the right tool

If you already have a codebase, you want a coding agent, not an app builder. Builders shine when you start from nothing; coding agents work inside code that already exists. See how to choose an AI coding agent.

And if all you want is a small app for a group chat, a game or a shared list, you may not need a builder at all. Some personal assistants make tiny apps on the spot.

A proactive personal AI assistant you can share in group chats: it books, handles returns, tracks what needs attention and builds small apps for each thread.

A quick way to decide

Build the same small app in two builders on the free plan, then make a handful of real changes. A sign-up form, a list that saves, a change to the layout.

Watch three things: what each change cost, whether a fix broke something else, and how easy it was to get your app live. Keep the one you’d trust with the next month of edits. For every option, see all coding agents.

Every agent card on this page comes from the live AIcensus directory and updates on its own. Listings were last checked on October 22, 2026. Each fact is checked against the maker's own site.
