What it does
Praex is an AI coding agent you use in the terminal, in a desktop app or in the browser. It reads your repository, edits files, runs commands and searches the live web, asking before it acts (manual mode is the default). Unlike most coding agents it runs on its maker's own models: Velox II (free every day), Faber II (Pro, woken on demand) and Lucia II (Max, opening soon), and you can also plug in your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, Ollama or other OpenAI-compatible keys. You can start a task in the terminal, steer it from your phone and review it on the web in the same session. The CLI is an open-source fork of OpenCode (MIT). Made by Lucius AI Systems, Inc. (Delaware); the site announced it live on October 19, 2026, the day it launched on Product Hunt.
